Orlando Trip!

This past week, Takoma sent me to the 2nd Creation Health Integration Conference in Orlando. 2 years ago, I went to the intial one and both times it was a great experience!

One highlight was hearing Des Cummings speak, simply because I have only seen him in Creation Health videos before, never in real life. It was like seeing a celebrity, ha! He gave an overview of the biblical foundations behind Creation Health, after Don Jernigan (President of Adventist Health Systems) gave his vision of the future of Creation Health.

I also got a kick out of hearing my Texas colleagues report that they are hosting a Creation Health Kids Summer Camp @ Peaceable Kingdom Retreat Center, which happens to be just down the road from my family's ranch in Texas. It was like experiencing a little taste of home!

Mostly, I enjoyed hearing various reports from teams all over the country who are successfully implementing Creation Health in their hospitals and communities. I gathered a lot of great ideas that we can do right here in Greene County!

While I was there, I experienced a lovely dinner @ Kobe Steakhouse with some friends who live there in the Orlando area. Actually, they live down the street from me here in Greeneville, but spend their winters down in Orlando in the home where they raised their kids. It is always a pleasure to see them!

The winter weather in East Tennessee actually extended my trip by one day, before I was able to fly/drive home. When I finally got there, I was more than ready to be home & enjoy the snow with my crew & a few extras. Apparently, we have the best sledding hill in the neighborhood, so we always have additions at our house on snowy days!

I hope you and yours are enjoying the beautiful snow, as well as a slower pace & some extra rest for a few days! It's time for me to head out and build a snowman with my crew!
